After my last party, one of the guests, (Brenda V.) went home at 10:00 pm to clean house. She said she couldn’t wait until morning to try the Norwex products she has just purchased. (She had told us earlier, she didn’t like to clean.) About 20 minutes later, she came rushing back to excitedly exclaim how much she liked the products, the Norwex cleaning cloth and window cloth, but was most excited about the dusting mitt that took all of the pet hair off their leather furniture. The next morning, Brenda went to the bank and told all who would listen about the wonderful Norwex products she had purchased and within a short time, my hostess was getting calls from people for a Norwex catalog. First tradeshow is an eye-opener.
February 19th, 2010Last week I rented a Norwex booth at our Winter Farm Show. This was my first trade show! Wow, some bad weather hampered the traffic a bit, but yet I must have talked to several hundred people. For four of the days, I manned the store alone..long days. One day I had a helper, so I could wander through the show a bit and actually eat a meal without having to swallow a bite of sandwich hurriedly. Talking to potential customers with bread in my teeth, just didn’t seem cool. After all, I am selling antibacterial toothbrushes. Because Norwex is a new business in this area, I had to explain over and over, that it is best to clean homes and offices with just our microfiber cloths and mops and water. For many, this just didn’t seem like “cleaning”. No chemical smells? After all clean smells like PineSol or bleach. Not so, clean has no smell. You mean you can cut grease with just water and a cloth? Yes, this is fantastic..the cloths just gobble up grease. You mean, I can get a shine on my windows without window cleaner or vinegar and newspaper? Our antibacterial microfiber cloths are washable and reusable, so save your money spent on window cleaners and paper towels. Your windows will shine like no other and presto..no streaks either! Oh, I had so much fun proving that my claims were really on target. I heard comments like, “Was that butter you put on the mirror? I can’t believe this. It’s gone, shine is back!” It was fun to talk to the skeptics, especially. “Old school” taught us we needed harsh chemicals to kill the germs! No, we only spread the germs around with chemical cleaners. Our mops and cloths remove 99.9% of the bacteria from smooth surfaces. It is all in the microscopic fibers and the immense amount of the fiber in a cloth. I must admit, I was a bit skepical when my daughter introduced me to these amazing cloths. Once I got them in my hands and used them, I became a “true believer”. Now our grandchildren and our pets wouldn’t be playing on floors smeared with harmful chemicals! Yes, it was an interesting week for me, although a bit exhausting. I will be doing it again next year, because I feel passionate about educating people that using harmful chemicals in personal care and cleaning it not good. Let’s go green and save money. It is the new wave!

North Americans may finally be catching on! We’ve all known about the amazing benefits of microfiber cleaning for a while – hospitals in Sweden and Finland have been using our products, or products very similar to ours for over a decade, yet, North Americans always seem to feel the need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to many environmental innovations.This spring, the following article appeared in the Journal of Canadian Health care Engineering Society Journal (volume 29, Issue 3, author Shelagh Damas) “Fighting Costs and Bacteria with Mirofibre Cleaning”. The article discussed how in the past “couple” of years a number of hospital facilities have switched to microfiber cleaning methods with the following results: The University of California Davis Medical Centre found a 60% decrease in lifetime cost savings for mops, a 95% reduction in chemical costs associated with mopping, and a 20% decrease in labour costs when they switched to a microfiber mopping system; Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC found significant savings in energy; The University of Massachusetts Sustainable Hospital Project noted decreased water, sewer, and chemical costs and found that the microfiber mops lasted 10 times longer than their traditional loop mops; and even more importantly, St. Jerome Hospital in Quebec was able to control their previously high levels of Clostridium difficile infection. Eight weeks after changing to microfiber cleaning methods, the number of infections dropped from 39 to 6, and over a year there was a 76% decrease in C. difficile infections in this facility.The problem with C. difficile is that it forms resistant spores and so is difficult to kill – of course – WE know that removing is always the way to go…and the microfiber was simply able to remove the spores from the surface, thereby dramatically reducing infection rates.

Norwex has introduced a new product for the elimination and removal of all organic

Nothing personal, but your house is crawling with all kinds of critters. There are flakes
of animal skin floating around as well. Did anyone read the recent article in the Winnipeg
free Press on Allergies? It read “stop sneezing and ah-attack dust mites and pet
dander”!
You need a microscope to actually see these dust mites and pet dander, but people know
they are there-and they have the stuffy noses and itchy eyes to prove it. As hibernation
season approaches these critters are forced indoors to join the already thousand or so
subspecies that inhabit your home. Research shows that even if you do not have a pet,
all homes contain pet dander. Mouse allergens also exist in 82% of homes.
Your face is in your pillow 7-8 hours daily and every time you plunk your head down on a
pillow, a little cloud of dust mites and their dead bodies and drippings come up and you
breathe them in! Pillows weigh 10% more a year after purchase due to dust mites.
